Correlation with LST & NDVI  Delhi March 2021

 

Delhi-Land surface temperature (LST) is important factor to study urban climatology, global environmental change, and human-environment interactions. Comparing LST with NDVI shows that the peak of the LST are usually the areas with no vegetation and comprising Urban/suburban regions. The dependency between the LST and NDVI for Delhi is represented by regression analysis. The raise of negative correlation probably describes the impact of intensive urban development in the recent times.

 

Correlation with LST & NDVI  Sikkim March 2021 

 

Sikkim- It can be concluded that LST is related closely to the characteristics of the land surface. The abundance of vegetation on the land surface and undisturbed natural areas shows lower surface temperature, than developed urban/semi urban areas with little vegetation. The graph show that LST is positively correlated with NDVI probably due to availability of dense forest, glaciers and other water bodies in the state.
